Check your group
When you log into the GoSwim app, open Settings and make sure your Group is set to Beijing and Shanghai Dual Meet at the top of the page. Every video you film will be filed under this group automatically.
Eight quick steps inside the GoSwim app to capture every race cleanly. Follow the order. We'll handle the rest.
When you log into the GoSwim app, open Settings and make sure your Group is set to Beijing and Shanghai Dual Meet at the top of the page. Every video you film will be filed under this group automatically.
Still in Settings, tap Preferred pool length and select SCM (25 meters). Tap OK to confirm. This tells GoSwim how to calculate splits and distance for every video.
Tap the Record button at the bottom of the app to open the camera. You'll be asked to pick the stroke your swimmer is about to do: Back, Breast, Free, Fly, IM, Medley, Starts, or Turns.
After you assign the stroke, you'll be asked for the race distance. Tap 25, 50, 100, or 200 based on what your swimmer is racing.
The camera is now live and ready. Your selections (stroke and pool length) appear on the left of the screen. To start the recording, tap the red button on the right of the screen.
During the race, keep your swimmer in the middle of the yellow guides on screen. This is the most important thing you'll do as a filmer — clean framing means clean data.
After you stop recording, you'll be asked to Select Event Type. Choose Practice or Meet depending on what you were filming. For the Beijing and Shanghai Dual Meet, this is Meet.
When you're done filming, exit the camera and tap Gallery at the bottom of the app to see all your races. We'll add the race data — splits, stroke rate, and analysis — which will appear right on this same screen as it gets processed.
Eight steps, one swimmer at a time. Your races are automatically organized in the GoSwim app. Analysis follows.
